Working with slope and intercept adjustments in FOSS IQX™ allows you to maintain precise and accurate measurement results across your instruments. Follow these steps closely:
Slope/intercept settings menu is found in the Slope/Intercept module
Step 1: Create a Sample Set
Access Instrument Data:
Navigate to Instrument Data in FOSS IQX™.
Select your instrument and filter samples according to your requirements (product type, dates, reference availability).
Create Sample Set:
Select samples you want to include.
Click Add to Sample Set.
Choose Create New Sample Set, give it a descriptive name, and set it as static for slope-intercept adjustments.
Step 2: Manage Your Sample Set
Review and Edit Sample Sets:
Go to Sample Set module.
Ensure your set is labeled as static and has the slope-intercept purpose checked.
Manage Reference Values:
Click Manage Reference Values.
Manually input or import reference values through provided Excel templates.
Sample Sets module menus and data.
Step 3: Slope and Intercept Adjustment
Navigate to Slope Intercept Module:
Go to the Slope Intercept module in FOSS IQX™.
Set Adjustment Scope:
Define your scope (instrument-parameter or product-parameter).
Be cautious when changing these settings as they may reset previous adjustments.
Inspect Current Slope/Intercept Values:
Select your instrument, product, and parameter.
Review current slope and intercept values.
Main menu of Slope Intercept with 4 areas to modify.
Step 4: Conduct the Validation and Adjustment
Select Sample Set:
Choose the static sample set you prepared earlier.
Perform Adjustment Calculation:
Validate samples to get adjustment recommendations.
Inspect plots (reference plots, residual plots, XY plots) for validation.
Check for outliers; exclude samples if necessary.
Implement Recommended Adjustments:
Accept recommendations provided by FOSS IQX™.
Confirm adjustments to update slope and intercept values.
Summary of the Device within the Sample Sets module menu.
Step 5: Publish the Update Session
Create an Update Session:
Go to Instrument Settings.
Select the relevant instrument or group and click Publish Update Session.
Validate and Confirm:
Name your update session clearly (e.g., “Slope adjustment – Protein June 2025”).
Validate the session and publish it.
Instrument Synchronization:
Allow your instruments to synchronize automatically or manually synchronize immediately on the instrument.
Best Practices
Regularly perform slope and intercept validations.
Clearly document adjustments with descriptive names.
Always convert dynamic sample sets to static before adjustments to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Following these steps in FOSS IQX™ ensures accurate, validated measurements, aiding effective quality management across your instruments.
